Ferran Adria is famous for his impossible-to-reserve-sublimely-inventive-gastronomic-experience at his restaurant El Bulli. Serving only 8,000 a year and with over 2 million requests for reservations, Chef Adria has become one of most celebrated chefs in the world. But he recently announced that El Bulli will be closing its doors forever. So if you aren’t one of the lucky few with a reservation and you happen to be in Barcelona, don’t worry, there are other ways to experience The Ferran Effect.
You can visit Inopia, run by lbert Adria, Ferran’s brother or try Chef Carles Abellan’s Comerç 24, or his casual tapas bar called Tapaç 24. Abellan apprenticed under Adria for 15 years so when we dined at Tapaç 24 recently, we knew we were in for a treat.
